I am a professor of Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology (SIAT), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), where I direct the Visual Computing Research Center (VCC) and Shenzhen Key Lab of Visual Computing and Visual Analytics (VisuCA) and I am also the depute director of the Institute of Advanced Computing and Digital Engineering (IACDE).


I obtained my Applied Math Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Prof. Uri Ascher in December 2008 from the Mathematics Department of the University of British Columbia. Before it I have been working with Prof. Pusheng Fei at Wuhan University and from there obtained my Computational Math Ph.D. degree in June 2006. Since January 2009, I worked with Prof. Eldad Haber on inverse problems as a postdoctoral research fellow at UBC until joined VCC/SIAT at Shenzhen in November 2010.

My research interests are mainly on Computer Graphics and Scientific Computing. I have published more than a dozen papers in the top international journals and conferences. I am now serves on the editorial board of Computer Graphics Forum and Frontiers of Computer Science. I am also the recipient of 2015 NSFC Excellent Young Scientist Grant, 2015 Guangdong Technological Innovation Leading Talent Award, 2014 Guangdong Outstanding Graduate Advisor Award, 2013 CAS International Cooperation Award for Young Scientists, 2012 CAS Lujiaxi Young Talent Award and 2011 Shenzhen Peacock Talent Award.
